USS Cleveland CL-55 Reunion Association

Robert Sherman Jackson, Jr.

I received a letter regarding a reunion for those who served in the United States Navy during WWII on the ship ďUSS Cleveland CL-55Ē. The envelope was addressed to my father, Robert Sherman Jackson, Jr. Upon reading the invitation to this reunion, I felt compelled to respond.

Sadly, my father passed away in July of 2007.

I would like to say thank you very much for the invitation to this reunion. I know he would have been honored to attend.

He didnít speak to much about his experience in the war. When he did speak about it, he always said that he was proud to have served his Country, and that he would have done it again if called upon to do so.

When saying the prayers honoring those who served this great Country, please donít forget to include my fatherís name, Robert Sherman Jackson, Jr.

Son of, in my humble opinion, the greatest father a son could ever have hoped for.
