Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at 11:00 AM in Martin & Castille's Downtown Chapel in Lafayette, for Harold E. Lukinovich, 87, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings.

Reverend Louis Allen Breaux, Associate Pastor of St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church in Duson, will conduct the funeral services. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include one son, Philip A. Lukinovich of Lafayette; two daughters, Anne L. Chauvin and her husband Robert of Lafayette, and Alice L. Rosenberg and her husband Donald of Austin, TX; three grandchildren, Timothy O. Chauvin, Valerie R. Chauvin and Kaitlyn F. Rosenberg; and two great grandchildren, Christopher R. Chauvin and Connor F. Chauvin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary B. Lukinovich; parents, Marco and Beatrice Smith Lukinovich; one brother, Edward L. Lukinovich; and one grandson, Christopher Robin Chauvin.

A native of New Orleans and a resident of Lafayette since 1959, Harold Eugene Lukinovich was born in New Orleans on December 20, 1924. He proudly served his country as a member of the Unites States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater, earning eight campaign ribbons. When out of the Navy, he went to work for BellSouth Telephone Company as a line man and retired 25 years later as a PBX Technician. At the time of his death, 87 years of age, he had been retired for over 25 years. He was a member of the BellSouth Pioneers and the American Legion, Post 69. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.
